The Lee Bird Classic is more than just an AKC trial! It is meant for ALL MEMBERS, and it our biggest and most important event of the year! We want everyone to come out and participate, and have events geared for all members to come out and have fun with your dogs, even if you aren’t a serious field trial.

The Lee Bird Classic Club Hunting Dog Championship will take place in the afternoon of Saturday, 4/29. This is the event for everyone. Grab your walking boots and bring out your favorite hunting buddy and take a run at the course. Judges are looking for dogs to find game for the gun. Dogs don’t need to be “finished” - they just need to get the job done! There will be ribbons awarded for 1st to 4th place.

The Lee Bird Classic Club Championship stake takes place on Sunday, 4/28. This one is all about bragging rights! There will be one pointer/setter winner, and one continental winner. This is a winner take all event – first place awarded only - and we are looking for the best of the best. Dogs are expected to be fully broke, and judges are looking for great runs with steadiness and backing expected. This is a horseback / walking stake. Walkers will be braced with walkers!

On Sunday, we’ll finish the day with the Lee Bird Classic Club Kid’s Youth Championship. Youth handlers will be guided by their adults as they handle their 4-legged friends around a short course. Having a great time and encouraging the kids is the name of this game. Everyone’s a winner in this stake!
