Had a great time on Sat 08/11/2024 helping newbies get aquiainted with field trails, hunt tests, and the show rings. It started off with a little "Smoke on the water", some fog and wet grass. There was a lot of green and it was nice to field questions that reminded me of my past misjudgements and confusion. I still have a lot of questions and am constantly learning but it was nice to see new faces and pupps and offer some direction!

Thanks to Ralph "DiLorio" DiIorio for organizing a wonderful event. We broke off into groups with our group leaders. Each group had a skill set focus and was introducing new people to the concepts of field trails and hunt tests.

Had a few ask, where do I train, how do I get brids, where do I get birds, all of the questions many of us had upon inquiring about the ESC.

I simply replied, come to a few field trials, hunt tests, meet people and see what it's all about. Some who said they were only interested in hunting suddenly realized hey, I can do the puppy stuff. Lights started going on and you could see the encouragment. I don't have all the names of the helpers or I would add them here. In light of not forgetting someone when the list is available maybe someone can add names and throw some pictures up.

It was also very cool to see some of the judges take time and offer knowledge into the world of field trials, hunt tests and the show ring. At the end of the day, we know the ups and downs, challenges, smiles, frustration, yet the satisfaction and enjoyment superceeds it all. Not one person didn't have a smile when having their pup.
