English Setter Club Rules


1. Members may train their dogs on the ESCA grounds at all times except when a field trial is in progress, during the December deer shotgun season or when the grounds are closed by the order of the board of directors.

2. Members who are professional trainers are not permitted to train dogs on weekends. These professionals may however, train with an owner who is a club member and they may only train the member's dogs, guests are not allowed.

3. Members must keep un-broke dogs on a check cord. Dogs are not allowed to run free without a trainer or handler in attendance at all times. Dogs are not allowed to be lose in the parking lot. This includes while getting ready to work the dog or when camping on the grounds.

4. Individual guests will be allowed three(3) visits in a calendar year(whether accompanied by the same member or several different members each time), but must be accompanied by a member.

5. Small game, EXCEPT QUAIL, may be hunted by members on the ESCA grounds during the regular hunting season and during the regular hunting hours. Members wishing to kill birds over their dog are limited to the breakaway field and must have orange. Hunting game birds on weekends is limited from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M only and not during field trials. A valid NJ state hunting license is required. Rifle slugs(shotgun) are allowed during the New Jersey shotgun season only, the club will be closed to dog training during this week. Including roding of dogs during this week.

6. Guests are not permitted during deer season.

7. Under no circumstances are rifles allowed to be discharged on the ESCA grounds. No target shooting or sighting of weapons on the ESCA grounds.

8. The use of ATV's are limited to dog training and hunting activities, recreational use is strictly forbidden. Children are only allowed to ride ATV’s to work dogs and during picnic(must ware helmet) and must be accompanied by a club member. No children riding double(age 16 and under).

9. Campers and recreational vehicles connected to the clubs electric must pay $5.00 per day(to be paid on departure to the club caretaker). Please obtain form from caretaker.

10. No parking on the front lawn.

11. No hunting or training during field trials.

12. Obey the 15 MPH Speed Limit.

13. Close the gate behind you.

ANY VIOLATIONS OF ANY OF THESE RULES WILL BE REFERRED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
